I have been working in education for over 9 years, with a focus on primary and middle school students and learners. For the past five years I have been working within an international school in Shanghai, China specialising in implementing the IB curriculum and framework. My role within the school was the English Coordinator for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and being a homeroom teacher. My experience from this time includes, developing and creating the school’s English Programme within the framework of the PYP curriculum, formulating assessment tasks and creating rubrics and constructing units of inquiry for transdisciplinary learning. I was also responsible for leading workshops and trainings for other teachers and staff members on the IB framework and its implementation.

Pursuing the Master of Teaching (Primary) Programme at Swinburne university I have received letters of commendation due to outstanding academic results. I have also successfully completed a TEFL certification; focusing on EAL learners and understanding a range of strategies to help promote academic excellence in English and EAL units. I have also received certifications from the successful completion of two, international IB workshops, (Implementation of the PYP and Multilingual Learning and Teaching for Middle School and Primary Years) which have great and positive effects on my own personal pedagogy and approach.
